King of the Krill (KOTK) is a battle for supremacy in the on-chain Whales.Game (WG) ecosystem on the Ethereum blockchain. WG itself, is a game-fi project made up of a number of smart contracts interconnecting WG NFTs with the KRILL ERC-20 token.
A never ending battle for KRILL emissions reigns in the WG ecosystem, with players utilizing WG NFT’s and DApps to increase their share. KOTK is the newest addition to a player’s arsenal of options to attain even more KRILL. It adds an additional burn element to the KRILL token, and allows the Current Winner to reap the bounty of significant KRILL rewards and emissions.
KRILL Emissions
The WG metaverse is filled with oceans of KRILL. The basis of all KRILL emissions (newly minted KRILL) comes from the Fisherman NFTs that harvest them.
Each Fisherman NFT receives 10,000 KRILL per day. There is no need for players to stake Fisherman NFTs, as they accumulate KRILL emissions automatically. However, when a player goes to harvest the KRILL, there is a 20% Whale Tax. This is not a tax to all the “Whale” players. Instead, it is a KRILL distribution to all the Whale NFTs in the ecosystem.
For every 9 Fisherman NFTs minted, the WG contract mints 1 Whale NFT. This causes an effective emissions rate for Fisherman NFTs of 8,000 KRILL per day, and the derived emissions rate for Whale NFTs of ~18,000 per day.
King of the Krill Assets
The KOTK contract can have positions in 6 different WG DApps. Each position provides KRILL rewards/emissions to the KOTK player with the highest Score (the Current Winner).
The 6 DApps the KOTK contract can hold a position in are:
As of November 1, 2022, the KOTK contract held:
- 600 Wrapped Fisherman NFTs. (~4.8 Million $KRILL per day)
- 9,163,095 cKRILL. (~40% ownership of the Compounder)
- A marginal position in the KRILL/ETH LP Staking contract.
These positions translate into significant KRILL rewards to the KOTK Current Winner.
How to Play King of the Krill
KOTK is a similar concept to King of the Hill, with players vying for the Throne (the Current Winner position) so that they can collect those juicy KRILL rewards.
A player’s Score is increased when they burn tokens to play, with 1 KRILL = 1 Score. Everyone’s Score decreases at a rate of 1 KRILL/second. Whoever increases their Score past the Current Winner’s Score takes over the Throne, until they are dethroned by someone else. In addition, when any player who is not the Current Winner burns KRILL to play, the Current Winner’s Score is reduced by 10% the amount of KRILL burned.
For example: The Current Winner has a score of 200M. A different player burns 100M KRILL to play. The winner now has a score of 190M (their score was decreased by 10% of whatever the other player put in). This adds a cooperative element between everybody excluding the Current Winner at any given moment, as other players can team up and increase their score together to help dethrone the Current Winner.
WG DApp Details
This section describes the 6 above listed DApps the KOTK contract can hold a position in; providing KRILL emissions and rewards to the Current Winner.
COMPOUNDER
Compounder allows players to compound KRILL in exchange for cKRILL. With Compounder, players are able to deposit and lock up KRILL for a flat fee of 10% of the KRILL deposited. This 10% then gets spread to the holders of cKRILL as KRILL rewards. Players can exit whenever they like but there is a 10% penalty, which, like the entry fee, is spread to all current holders of cKRILL. The price of cKRILL fluctuates based on entries, exits and total KRILL locked up.
FISHERMAN NFT’s
As described above, Fisherman NFTs receives 10,000 KRILL per day, with and effective rate of 8,000 KRILL per day (after the 20% Whale Tax).
There is no need to stake Fisherman NFTs. Just having them in a wallet allows players to collect KRILL rewards here.
WHALE NFT’s
As described above, 1 in every 10 NFT mints is a Whale instead of a Fisherman. While Whale NFTs don’t receive any direct KRILL emissions, the 20% Whale Tax on Fisherman NFTs give Whale NFTs rewards averaging 18,000 KRILL per day.
There is no need to stake Whale NFTs. Just having them in a wallet allows players to collect KRILL rewards here.
WRAPPED FISHERMEN
Wrapped Fishermen are ERC-20 tokens backed by a pool of Fisherman NFTs. Players can wrap (convert) their Fisherman NFTs into Wrapped Fishermen, or unwrap their Wrapped Fishermen back into Fisherman NFTs at anytime.
When a player wraps a Fisherman NFT, the NFT goes into the wrapping contracts with other Fisherman NFTs. KRILL emissions to Fisherman NFTs pooled in the the wrapping contract get passed through to Wrapped Fishermen holders. In fact, since the WG team locked additional Fisherman NFTs into the wrapper contract, Wrapped Fishermen get higher KRILL emissions than their Fisherman NFT counterparts. These higher rewards are expressed as a Gathering Multiplier.
As of November 10, 2022, the Wrapped Fishermen multiplier was 1.096x.
WRAPPED WHALES
Wrapped Whales are the same as the above described Wrapped Fishermen. Since there is an even higher ratio of Whale NFTs locked into the wrapper contract by the WG team, they have an even higher Gathering Multiplier.
As of November 10, 2022, the Wrapped Whale multiplier was 1.524x:
KRILL/ETH LP STAKING
Players can provide liquidity on Uniswap and stake their LP tokens to gather extra KRILL. Users can stake, unstake and claim KRILL at any time without fees.
Players staking KRILL/ETH LP tokens receive:
- 25% of the KRILL cost to mint all Fisherman/Whale NFTs
- 1% fee on all KRILL transfers.
